What is Micro-needling?
Micro-needling is an economical procedure whereby very fine needles are used to penetrate the skin to a superficial level, causing microscopic injuries that result in the reforming and restructuring of collagen and elastin and ultimately in rejuvenation of the skin. It is used to reduce pore size, improve skin texture and tone, and reduce acne scars, stretch marks and other scars.
The simplest method of micro-needling is the manual skin roller that you can purchase yourself and use at home. Does micro-needling hurt?

Most patients experience a mild discomfort during the procedure, a feeling like your skin is being brushed with a rough toothbrush. Many patients tolerate micro-needling without any prior treatment, however, we do use numbing cream regularly to reduce the sensation. Other skin needling devices are known to be more painful. There is no pain after the treatment, just a feeling of warmth. Your face will look pink, like a mild to moderate sunburn, and there is mild swelling which may not even be noticeable.
