Non Surgical Brow Lift

Non Surgical Brow Lift

What is a brow lift?

A brow lift is sometimes known as a forehead lift or forehead rejuvenation. It is a cosmetic procedure that improves the appearance of the forehead and the area around the eyes, including the brow. The soft tissue and skin of the forehead and brow are raised to create a more youthful appearance. There are both surgical and non surgical brow lift options available, both with significant differences in terms of downtime.

As we age, the skin and underlying tissue, including bone, lose volume and elasticity which causes the brows to move lower on the face, seen as a decrease in the distance between the eyebrow and the eyelashes

There are surgical procedures available to provide a brow lift including:

  • Coronal brow lift
  • Endoscopic brow lift
  • Hairline brow lift

These surgical procedures require a couple of hours for surgery and usually 7 – 10 days of recovery, with swelling which can last several weeks. Alternatively, non surgical brow lift options are non-invasive procedures that can produce excellent results with much less downtime.

What non surgical brow lift options are available in Brisbane?

Ultherapy brow lift

Ultherapy is a great option for a non surgical brow lift. This procedure is effective for targeting forehead wrinkles and eyebrow droop. Only topical anesthesia is required and there is usually no down time involved with this procedure. It takes less than an hour so you can have this treatment in your lunch break and return to work straight after.

Ultherapy will tighten the skin of the forehead which will reduce wrinkles and raise the eyebrows. Ultherapy uses micro-focused ultrasound energy to target the collagen layer of the skin to create new collagen over 3 – 6 months which results in subtle, natural looking skin tightening and lifting.

Brow thread lift

A brow thread lift is very effective at raising the outer brow and opening the eyes. This procedure is also long lasting with results lasting from 12 – 24 months, with an average of 18 months. The use of fillers and anti wrinkle injections will enhance the result and can prolong the effectiveness of the treatment.

Downtime is usually minimal with most patients returning to normal activities the day after the procedure. There are no scars associated with a brow thread lift procedure but you may experience some redness, swelling and bruising. These side effects are generally minor, subsiding within 48 hours and can be concealed with makeup.

Anti wrinkle injection brow lift

It is possible to create an overall lift of the eyebrows using anti wrinkle injections. There are muscles around the eye which can pull the eyebrows lower. Injecting into these muscles can relax them sufficiently to release this downward pull on the eyebrows and allow them to elevate. This procedure can produce a few millimetres of eyebrow height.

Dermal filler brow lift

Injecting dermal filler around the eyebrows can also increase the height of the brow. As we age, the bony orbital rim around the eyebrow becomes more prominent and the tissue over the bone becomes thinner. Dermal filler placed in this area will soften the appearance of hollowing and eyebrow droopiness.

Dermal fillers can also be used to help reduce the appearance of sag in the eyelid area. When placed in the middle half of the upper eyelid, dermal filler creates a balance between the outer half of the eyelid and the inner inner hollow of the upper eyelid, creating a more youthful appearance around the eyes.
